Do you guys know how I would solve this problem? I was even thinking of using Autohotkey and recording some keystrokes to do it at startup but get this. So when the A.I fails I come here to ask the humans.

I was like okay cool how do I find out what the command line option is? And it moved onto another topic since obviously It doesn't know and doesn't want to admit that. I asked ChatGPT for help and it said to make a bat file that would change the setting from the commandline. Problem is every time I restart or boot my machine from being powered off the setting ALWAYS reverts back to Front Panel and I have to change it back EVERY TIME I restart or boot. I got an amp to plug into the audio and was struggling to work out why sound was only coming out of one speaker (left) then I by chance and changing every setting I could found the issue was in the ASUS Realtek HD Audio Manager there was an "Amplifier" setting and it was set to "Front Panel" and changing it to "Auto Switch" cured the problem! Amazing.

So full disclosure I have a very old machine with a Z170-AR motherboard in it.
